After the completion of a set of 365 miniature seascapes in 2022 – painted onto antique tins over a period of three years – David began work on a dynamic collection of mostly abstract artworks on a larger scale. A small grouping was exhibited at Tatha Gallery (Fife) as part of an exhibition he co-curated called Slow Praxis. Works were subsequently shown at Christie’s (London) and The Watermill Gallery (Aberfeldy), before a solo exhibition at The Scottish Gallery, which opened on August 29th 2024. This is David’s tenth solo exhibition since graduating in 2010 and features a range of expressive styles, media and surface types. Conceptually, the exhibition – called Light on Water – leads on from his 2019 exhibition Rising Horizon.
